The Road to Growth
BLC Transportation owner and president, Brent Forbes, made the transition from farming to hauling hay back in 1999. He soon learned how much he enjoyed driving and went to work for IWX, traveling a route from Springfield, Mo., to Kingman, Az. Shortly after, Brent purchased his own truck and started driving himself. “I thought, ‘This is easy, anybody can do this,’” Brent says.
But after purchasing three more trucks, he quickly found out it wasn’t quite so easy after all. His drivers were tearing up equipment and burning through fuel. “There’s got to be a better way,” he thought.
It was around this time Brent met someone who introduced him to the leasing program. He partnered with Prime soon after and brought over three of his 12 trucks to the leasing pioneer. Steady growth followed.
Since starting in 2007, Brent has expanded BLC Transportation from just three trucks to approximately 100. Yet he is far from finished. Brent has plans to continue growing the company well into the future.

Brent Forbes
Brent Forbes is the president, owner, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BLC Transportation. Brent was a former driver and has been in the transportation business since 1999. Prior to the transportation industry, Brent was in the dairy business, and is no stranger to hard work. BLC Transportation came to fruition in 2006 with only 5 trucks. BLC joined in a partnership with Prime Inc. in March of 2007. Prime Inc has a power only group called the Advanced Fleet, and through the partnership with Prime the company has grown to 100 trucks. Brent takes pride in treating employees and drivers like family, and continues to call drivers by name and not a number. When Brent is not in the office he can often be found in a deer blind in the woods, but truly enjoys his family and time at the lake.
Liz Forbes
Liz Forbes is the head of the recruiting department at BLC Transportation. Liz has a teaching background and prior to working in the trucking industry she spent 10 years teaching middle school and college classes. Liz’s favorite job is being a mom to her three kids. Liz enjoys getting to know the drivers and discovering their personalities as well as their driving strengths throughout the application process. A strong believer in the power of positive thinking, Liz enjoys empowering drivers with positive energy on a daily basis. Liz takes pleasure in her family, lake time, and a good Netflix binge, but can also be found in fitness and yoga classes on a daily basis.


Roy Zook
Happily married to my wife (Sherrie) of 20 years with 2 daughters (Heidi & Paisley) and 1 (Jessica) from a previous marriage. I have been lucky enough to have coached football and other sports, earned my degree and have been in education (wife still is.) My experiences have enabled me to have a great network of friends and to become a diversified person and problem solver. Growing up in transportation I’ve been a traditional owner operator pulling oversized/specialized/van and reefers for my family business and others while always learning the ins and outs of the industry. As a leader, I know that teamwork from every aspect of an organization is what leads to everyone being successful in all parts of life. My hobbies include Purdue University, sports, cooking, spending time with my family, smoking foods, and the Indianapolis Colts. With a positive outlook, teaching and coaching experience I know we can help others become successful transportation business men and women.
Megan Frantsen
Megan Frantsen, our dedicated bookkeeper who brings a wealth of experience and a touch of flair to our team! Megan is a Springfield native who shares her home with her two feline companions, Roxy and Grace. Armed with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from MSSU in Joplin, Mo., Megan boasts over 17 years of expertise in customer service and account management. Her extensive background includes handling collections and receivables, with over 14 years specifically in the trailer supply and logistics industry. Through her diverse roles in the workforce, Megan has honed invaluable skills, making her a stellar listener, problem solver, and a beacon of patience in any workplace scenario. In her downtime, Megan’s green thumb shines as she tends to her garden and enjoys planting. She’s also a creative soul, frequently immersed in art projects and crafting endeavors. Step into the office, and you’ll immediately notice her impeccably manicured nails, reflecting her penchant for staying on top of the latest trends. Megan’s meticulous attention to detail, coupled with her vibrant personality, makes her an indispensable asset to our team. We’re proud to have her on board!

I’m here to make joining our team super easy for you. As a recruiter, I’m all about finding the right people for our company and making sure you feel at home from day one. Basically, I help new folks like you get started. I’m here to guide you through the whole process, from talking to you about what we do to getting you set up with everything you need to start. Armed with two degrees—a Associate of Arts in General Studies and a Bachelor of Science in Recreation Management with a minor in Spanish—Lea is a well-rounded professional with a diverse skill set. In addition to her role at BLC, she’s a devoted furmom to a chi-poo and terrier mix, balancing her responsibilities with warmth and care. When she’s not at BLC or lending her linguistic talents, Lea can be found soaking up quality time with friends and family. She thrives on indoor and outdoor excursions, seeking adventure and connection at every opportunity. Plus, she dedicates her time and talents to serving on the worship team at her church, embodying a spirit of community and compassion. With Lea at the helm of our drivers’ ELD support and front desk operations, you can trust that you’re in capable hands. Her dedication, expertise, and genuine warmth make her an invaluable asset to our team and a joy to work with.
